If you read a few fitness magazines and scrolled through some weightlifter profiles on Instagram, that’s all well and good, but that alone doesn’t make you an expert. Even fitness experts need help and guidance once in a while. “It does not make you any less of a man asking for proper help,” says Christian Koshaba, CPT, Chicago-based fitness expert, and owner of Three60Fit. “Proper form and technique are absolutely imperative for maximum muscle growth, range of motion, injury prevention, and longevity.”
Bottom line: Swallow your ego, drop the weight, and do it correctly. “In the long run you’ll achieve a lot more strength and won’t look like an idiot doing so,” he adds.
