Christian Koshaba

Founder & Personal Trainer

My Road To Health and Wellness

"My own journey into physical activity and overall wellness began at the age of 15. My brother, Josh, introduced me to weight-lifting through a gym membership birthday gift. In my early teens, I was one of the smaller kids in my grade, maybe 5'2" and 120 lbs. I was heavily bullied and pushed around by my 'friends.' That was my driving motivation to never be picked on or bullied again. Within one year, I had grown to more than 6' and with the addition of weight-lifting and martial arts had increased my weight to 170 lbs. Needless to say, I've never been bullied again. I found that through those outlets and the more competent I became, the more humble and respectful I grew. This was only the first-step of my transformation.

Years later, I joined the Air Force as an Electronic Warfare Technician. The work was interesting but I was not passionate about it. As an avid 'gym rat,' my superiors began seeing my optimal physical fitness levels and approached me to become a Physical Training Leader. In that role, I lead fellow airmen in physical activities such as flag football, basketball, weightlifting and endurance training. I also privately trained airmen who had previously failed their yearly mandated physical fitness tests and coached them to a passing grade.

Upon completion of my military enlistment, I traveled to New Zealand and Australia for what was supposed to be a celebratory trip. Instead, I suffered a gruesome injury to my dominant hand and was told by surgeons that I would never use my right-hand again. After arriving home, I began Occupational Therapy at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital. It became my mission to prove the surgeons wrong. With six months of intense therapy, I regained 95% motor-control. It was then that I truly realized just how powerful the mind is over the spirit and body.

Since that time, I wanted to learn the true science behind achieving results that were considered medically improbable or even impossible. But what I found even more intriguing was that ones' true physical well-being was immensely impacted by their emotional state and strength of their willpower more than anything. Throughout the diverse curriculum, I studied at the University of Illinois at Chicago (sports psychology, health coaching and motivational interviewing), I have successfully applied a scientifically proven method behind not only physical achievements but more substantially, mental and emotional life-changing transformations. And that was the birth of Three60fit. This life journey inspires me to help take my clients and bring them through a full transformation that celebrates 360 degrees of health."

Greg Poland

Personal Trainer & Massage Therapist

My Desire to Heal and Help

I began pursuing massage therapy because I realized the world we live in today there is too much stress and not nearly enough time spent away from the stressors. I wanted to help alleviate that stress. I've worked in retail for over 10 years helping people, but I was longing for a change that would allow me to help them in a more personal, self-rewarding way. I know how it feels to get a good massage and I want to spread that feeling to as many people as possible. I enjoy developing personal relationships with people and facilitating change. Massage is a perfect way to do both. Massage in the fitness industry is extremely crucial to your health and wellness. Not only are you dealing with the stress and tension of everyday life but now you're adding the stress and tension of working out. Pre-workout massages can get you warmed up to help prevent injury and post workout massages can help get your body back to homeostasis. This will reduce recovery time and get you working out sooner and more efficiently.  Providing clients with an environment that will allow them to relax and be stress-free is my main goal. 

I'm also a personal trainer here at Three60Fit. I enjoy working with clients as they reach new heights. Exercise became an important part of my life a few years back and now I can't imagine a day without it. A good exercise routine will feed your soul.

Jessi Bergman

TRX Coach

Eating healthy and exercising has always been important to me in my daily life. Typically I run every morning before work and try to workout 3-4 times a week for strength training. Professionally, I am a cardiovascular nurse but I enjoy educating and inspiring people outside of nursing as well.  I used to workout independently until I met Christian. When he opened this gym, it was the perfect fit for how I envisioned a gym to be.  Being a member of this gym is like family, so it is only natural to want to teach and inspire the community at Three60Fit as well.  The variety of classes here is what makes this gym unique.  The TRX suspension training is one of my favorites.  I like how these straps are adaptable to any setting.  They can be used outside, at home, or even a hotel room when traveling. Body weight resistance can be as challenging as you want it too be and so easy to modify depending on your fitness level and goals. I'm excited to venture into leading these TRX classes and to challenge everyone at Three60Fit!

Bill Jensen

Personal Trainer

I've been a personal trainer for over 20 years, I have experience working with a wide variety of clients from young athletes to the geriatric population. I'm proud to be a seven-year Navy Vet, I've completed 24 marathons and hustled up the Hancock several times. 

 

My training philosophy is- take it one day at a time, we are always recreating ourselves. My passion is doing my part as a personal trainer to help others improve their fitness to their highest level, and having fun while doing it.

I have been a personal trainer and health coach for 6 years and have worked and observed across the spectrum of healthcare and fitness. Since I was a teenager I have studied martial arts and boxing under my Grandfather, Grandmaster Robert Beal. I am passionate about combining my experiences with fitness, healthcare, and martial arts to help deliver unique, fun, and efficient training sessions. I am dedicated to integrating and optimizing mind, body, and unique human performance. I train with and teach an array of training tools ranging from conventional strength training equipment to unconventional methods like steel mace, hammers, and battleropes. I focus on helping clients create good habits, build a strong foundation of aerobic fitness, and develop strength and motor control through full ranges.

Jessica is a native of the South, but has lived in Chicagoland with her family since 2009. She is an ACE-certified Personal Trainer who is passionate about helping others achieve optimal health, fitness, mobility, and functionality - in body, mind, and spirit. She loves combining her faith with fitness, and believes that God wants to be involved in every part of our lives. She knows that wellness is a journey and a process that needs to include rest and self-care, as well as faith and camaraderie with others.
